MAKE YOURSELF AT HOME

Get away from it all at the JRL, a small family-owned and operated cattle ranch nestled in the Cascade Mountains of southern Oregon. The ranch is just 1 hour from Crater Lake National Park and close to southern Oregon wineries, Rogue River rafting adventures and the Pacific Crest Trail. Our ranch is off the grid, yet well-stocked with upscale modern comforts. We invite our visitors and guests to experience the serenity of clean air, starlit night skies and a chance to unwind from busy urban lives in our main house or traditional ranch bunkhouse.

The Property

Guests can explore the property to see the daily operations of a working ranch. Every day brings something new on the ranch, and we manage it holistically with the environment in mind.

On any given day we are moving cattle, repairing fence, changing sprinkler handline, checking our riparian wetlands, or stacking hay grown in the pastures.

The main ranch house has a wide open floorplan, 3 bedrooms and 2 baths, and a full kitchen overlooking the sun deck and wide open views of the pasture.

The bunkhouse sleeps up to six guests in a cozy, rustic cabin nestled in the pines just yards away from the main ranch house.

ACCOMMODATIONS

The main ranch house has 3 bedrooms and 2 baths, a wide open floor plan connecting the sunlit great room with the dining and kitchen areas, and a wrap-around deck overlooking our beautiful pasture.

Our kitchen is well-stocked with non-perishable essentials and dozens of cookbooks. Please make yourself at home. Make a relaxing meal on the Viking range while overlooking the pasture, and dine on the back patio beneath the wisteria.

We also have a six-bed, 1 bath bunkhouse just 100 feet from the main ranch house that you can rent if you have a larger party or would prefer a smaller, more rustic home base while visiting Oregon.

This bunkhouse is perfect for a group who wants to explore Southern Oregon by day and sleep peacefully by night with the sound of the burbling brook beneath the windows. Often, guests book these additional bunks in conjunction with the main ranch house. The bunkhouse has a spartan kitchen with an electric skillet and teapot for heating food/beverages, and a small fridge for necessities.

Our entire ranch is off the electrical grid, powered by a combination of photovoltaic solar, generator and battery storage. Whole-house heating is provided by wood-burning stoves. We never saw the need for a television or other high-powered electronics – the only modern electronic convenience we invested in is our wi-fi router!

Large groups & events

We can host weddings, parties, family reunions, or business retreats. If you’d like more information about hosting events at the ranch, please contact us directly for scheduling, event planning, and pricing information.
